I’m an industrial engineer by training and a geometry-based artist by profession. I was born in 1973 (do the math for my age). I think I’ve always had a compass and ruler in my hand. I remember starting to draw with a ruler and compass when I was… about 5 years old?

There are two passions that have been with me since I was very young: geometric (and technical) drawing and photography. When I was little, I would take my father’s camera and experiment with it. In a time with film (there was no digital photography), imagine the constant surprises I got when the film ran out and the enormous expense my parents incurred on “experimental” photos with me.

At 18, I discovered computer-aided design, followed by design and photo editing software. Now, I combine hand drawing with computer design.

After many years working in engineering for various companies, I finally decided to dedicate myself to my two passions. I now create artwork based on geometry, not only Islamic but also from diverse world cultures, and I photograph different landscapes from my travels. All of this is sold worldwide through this website for the geometry pieces and through josecabreraphoto.com for my photographs.
